Of course you can't tell from the picture- but they are giggling like happy little girls do. We have been heading to the pool here in Spokane on our hot days. I have to drag them out of there after many hours kicking and screaming! Ok, that might be a little dramatic, but they never want to leave! Kodi has literally had her nap on the pool deck in the shade.

Viva Las Vegas

We went to Circus Circus and watched a few circus acts. Kaya thought they were pretty cool.

We took a trip to Las Vegas for Jeremy's Grandma's funeral and made a mini vacation out of it while we were at it. Jer's parents rented this really cool house with a pool and we were able to relax and enjoy a few days with the family.

Health and Safety Fair

We all went to the Health and Safety Fair up here at the U and Kaya had a blast, except for Curious George. She loves the cartoon but apparently seeing a huge dressed up monkey just wasn't her thing. She absolutely loved the cheerleaders and after she got down from doing the 'stunt', she ran up to me saying, "I did it! I did it!". We may have a future cheerleader on our hands.

Baby Kodi came to us on 8/12/08 weighing 5 lbs 5 oz. She is perfect in every way. We are planning on leaving the hospital today (8/13) and Jen will put up more info and more pics.

Zoo

Grandma Tonia, Kaya and I went to the zoo last week and Kaya got to ride the carousel. She was a little scared at first, but after I got her to sit on her animal, she really loved it. I thought walking around the zoo for a few hours would help me go into labor, but all it did was give me false labor for about 5 hours that night and I decided that I wouldn't put myself through that again. Needless to say, I've been taking it easy and we will be going in tomorrow night (the 11th) to be induced. We are all very excited that we've made it this far in the pregnancy (37 weeks). After 7 weeks of bed rest, I can't explain how happy I am to have this baby. We will post pictures and details as soon as we can.

Fun Stuff

We all went to Jeremy's cousin's reception up here on the U of U campus last night. Today was Kaya's cousins birthday party and it was a Little Mermaid Fishy theme and we were supposed to dress up. Its kind of hard to see, but Kaya has fishies glued onto her shirt and thanks to Jeremy's creativeness, I have a fish bowl drawn onto my shirt with fishies glued onto it. It was pretty silly but still fun. As far as baby goes, I'm obviously still pregnant as you can see in the pictures. As of now, my induction date is the 12th. I have more doctors appointments this week so we'll see what happens.

Its been a while...

How about the fun stuff first. Last week we went to Jeremy's brothers pool for a dip. Kaya loves the
swimming pool. She wanted us to throw her in the pool (in the whale toy). She thought that was
fun until it flipped over and luckliy I was in and saved her. She did well with holding her breath,
but she was done with that for a while.

This morning we went to get donuts at our favorite little place and Kaya insisted on getting a gumball from the big machine that they so conveniently have where we sit and eat. She got a blue one and gave us a nice cheezy smile with a blue mouth before she decided that she wanted a red one (red is her favorite color these days) and threw quite the tantrum. We left very shortly.

We then went to watch the 24th of July Parade for a bit, which is where we took the family picture. We only went for a little bit because I was dying of heat even though I was sitting in the shade. Its just uncomfortable to be hot when you're pregnant.

I had to throw in the picture of Jeremy and Kaya with their coke bottles because I thought it was funny. Jeremy has always loved coke and Kaya thinks all soda is coke and wants to be just like her daddy. So of course she insisted on having her OWN bottle and drink it just like dad. What she didn't know was that we put caffeine free coke in hers so we didn't have an overly hyper child the rest of the day.

Not much is going on with the baby except that I'm still on bedrest! My appointments have been going well and she finally had a bit of a growth spurt and now weighs approximately 4 1/ 2lbs. I've passed the 34 week mark and now its just a waiting game. We'll go until 37 weeks unless I have to deliver earlier. Thats exciting for me because there is finally a definite end in sight. Not that I want her to come too early but you should try being on bedrest for this long. Its been 4 1/2 weeks so far and if I make it to 37, it will be a total of 7 weeks! I made my doctor promise that 37 was the limit. Luckily he sympathizes with me. So as of now, I'll only have to deliver if things get worse with the pre-eclampsia. I'm going to the doctors at least twice a week so needless to say, I'm being watched carefully.

We're still Pregnant!

Last week at my Non-Stress test we found that my amniotic fluid had gotten to a 6. A 5 is dangerous and a point at when they deliver the baby. So I'm now on some high blood pressure meds to control it and luckily being on the meds helped the fluid levels. At my appointment today it went up to a 9. We are very happy that we didn't have to deliver today. I am 33 weeks and we'll be pregnant at least another week, yeah!

4th of July Weekend

Daddy and Kaya got to go to the Rodeo with some family to celebrate the 4th of July, but not mom. I got to stay home in bed. Kaya loved seeing all the animals and of course the fireworks afterwards. The next day Jeremy, Kaya and Grandma Jan went on a hike up the mountain behind our house. They got all the way to the top and got a great view of the whole valley. Kaya's favorite part of the hike is throwing rocks into the creek and watching them splash (as you can see in the picture to the left). . We also got to do some of our own fireworks up by our house and she loved holding the sparklers, although she kept wanting to touch the flame. We had to keep a close eye on her.

Boards are Over!!

Well, at least Step 1 of the Boards. Jeremy took the boards yesterday and he's very relieved its over. Of course we don't find out the results for six weeks or so. Even though I'm on strict bedrest we went out to dinner to celebrate with just the two of us. It was so nice to actually be able to spend time together after the past few months of Jeremy studying all hours of the day. We are both glad its over and now we move onto rotations at the hospital starting July 7th. His first rotation will be OB/GYN, which can be pretty intense with long hours. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Baby Update

I've decided to use our blog as an information update center about the baby as well as all the fun stuff in our lives. For now, the fun stuff isn't happening as often due to me being on strict bed rest with this pregnancy. So here is the low down as of now. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and my blood pressures are high but steady for now. I just got steroid shots for the baby's lungs to develop faster because we are anticipating a birth in about 3 weeks according to my doctors. I'm doing non-stress tests twice a week to monitor the baby to make sure she is doing good. And of course lots of tests to make sure the pre-eclampsia isn't getting worse happens weekly. My outings these days are doctors visits. Definitely not the most exciting outings ever, but at least I have a chance to get out of the house. We hope to get further than 34 weeks of course, but its not looking like that will happen as of now. Things can change though and we can only hope and pray that our little girl can handle the outside without too many complications. So as of now, I'm working on keeping my blood pressure down and keeping this baby in for a while!

California Trip

Kaya and I took a trip out to California to let Jeremy get some good studying in and visit some family and of course go to Daniel and Heather's wedding (my brother and new sister-in-law). We had lots of fun and even though I was on partial bed rest at the time, which I did every day, we had to throw in a few fun activities. We went up to my grandparents ranch and rode some dune buggy's. People gave me a lot of crap for it, but in reality Kaya was on there with me so I obviously didn't go very fast and we rode on trails along the property. We also went out on the lake and Kaya loved being on the boat. It was pretty cold that day so we put our feet in but no swimming or water sports for me. We also had a chance to go to the beach with my cousin Chantelle and her family. Kaya loved seeing all of her cousins and can't stop talking about them. She asks about them all the time and unfortunately I have to try to explain that they live far away, but we do try talking to them on the phone frequently. And of course my brothers wedding was great. I got to do make-up for the bride and some bridesmaids and Kaya danced her little heart out with her cousin Isabella. I don't think she left the dance floor once the music started.

Kaya's 2nd Birthday

I'm going to back track a bit while starting this blog with a few events that have happened in the last month or two. First is Kaya's 2nd Birthday. She turned two on May 17th and we had a funfilled family BBQ to celebrate. She absolutely loves corn and walked around with one for at least half the time. The other half was spent in the alligator pool Grandma and Grandpa Sunseri got her for her birthday. It was a big hit with all the kids including her friend Jackson (shown in the picture above).
